Carla Debnam, MS, LCPC, Founding Director - Has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science for Business from the DeVry Institute of Technology, a Master of Science degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University Maryland and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Transformational Leadership from Ashland Theological Seminary. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors. Mrs. Debnam has been at the Renaissance Center since July 2001. Sheri Brown, MS, MSW, MA, National Certified Counselor (NCC), member of American Association of Christian Counselors, American Counselors Association, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) - Earned a B.S. in both Social Work and Mental Health from Morgan State University, 1980; Masters of Social Work and Master of Arts in Public Administration, from the Ohio State University, 1982. Sheri works with individual clients and families and has broad experience working with pre-marital, engaged and married couples. She is a certified PREPARE-ENRICH Counselor and Seminar Director, qualified to train and certify others. In addition, Sheri is an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Maryland at Baltimore, School of Social Work.
Nichole M. Boswell, LCSW-C - Ms. Boswell has over 20 years of social work experience earning her BSW from Coppin State University where she is currently and Adjunct Instructor. She earned her MSW from the University of Maryland School of Social Work with a concentration in Families and Children. She is a licensed minister and advocate at heart that specializes in restoration, recovery, and reconciliation for those impacted by trauma associated with child maltreatment, domestic violence, and divorce and separation. She is also well trained in the areas of human trafficking and LGBQ.

Loretta Hill, MA, National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) - Counselor at the Renaissance Center since June, 2002. Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from Morris College, Sumter, South Carolina; Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from North Carolina Central University, Durham, North Carolina. Retired from the Baltimore City Public School System as a Guidance Specialist in 1999. Loretta was responsible for writing program plans and training counselors for the Elementary Guidance Program in the Baltimore City Public School System. Under her leadership, the program increased from twenty-one counselors to sixty-eight counselors. Loretta is a member of Pennsylvania Avenue African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church where she serves as Director of Counseling and Support Services. The focus of her counseling is self-awareness. Her belief is that God has given each of us all that we need to be the best that we can be, if you apply yourself.
Dr. Sharon Thomas-Parker, BS, M.Ed., EdD. LCPC, NCC, CCTP, NCGC-I. Dr. Thomas-Parker is a very knowledgeable, outgoing, committed professional who has a very eclectic background in the field of counseling and mediation. She has received specialized training in the treatment of clients with alcohol and/or drug addiction as well as those with gambling, internet, or sex addiction. Dr. Thomas-Parker is skilled working with college students, refugees, asylees, and victims of various forms of trauma, torture and/or domestic violence. As a therapist, Dr. Thomas-Parker, has had the opportunity to work with couples, adults, teens, families, children and international clients in a multitude of settings. One of Dr. Thomas-Parker's strongest attributes is her ability to help people deal with life events (marriage, death, divorce, birth of a child, dismissal from work, martial separation, imprisonment, personal injury) in an organized, caring manner.
Towanda Street, MA, NCC, LCPC. A retired Naval Officer, she received a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She is a member of the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors of Maryland (LCPCM) and American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). A counselor at the Renaissance Center since 2011, Ms. Street truly has a heart for God and His people. She brings valuable experience working with individuals, couples, and families experiencing a variety of mental health related issues. Ms. Street is a certified PREPARE/ENRICH Counselor and has a passion for working with engaged and married couples. As a certified Divorce Care facilitator, she has also walked alongside those experiencing the pain of divorce. In addition to counseling, Ms. Street serves the Body of Christ as an active member of various ministries at her church.
Darryl Webster, MS, LCPC, CAC-AD, AS- is an experienced co-occurring disorders counselor, holding over ten years’ experience in counseling a wide range of populations, ranging from addiction counseling, educational counseling, mental health counseling, and counseling individuals with co-occurring disorders. His professional experience entails holding a wide range of professional positions in the field of counseling. Those positions include counselor, clinical and program supervisor, and his current position as program director for a substance abuse agency’s Intermediate Care Facility (ICF)/Detoxification Treatment Units.
Mr. Webster holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Substance Abuse Counseling from Coppin State University. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Drug and Alcohol Counseling from Coppin State University. Mr. Webster is a Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors & Therapists Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (L.C.P.C.); Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists Certified Associate Counselor – Drug and Alcohol (C.A.C.-A.D.), and an approved Substance Abuse Supervisor. He has published an article in the Journal of Human Behavior, which focuses on the effects of religiosity and spirituality on substance users. The article also reflects his research and personal opinions about the benefits of spirituality towards the recovery process.
Charisse Mercer, BS - Office Manager – Currently serves as the Office Manager/Group Administrator of The Renaissance Center. Mrs. Mercer started working for The Renaissance Center in 2007 and has been a faithful employee ever since. Mrs. Mercer has a B.S. in Business Administration and is pursuing her Master’s degree in Human Resources. Goal oriented, team player, hard worker and problem solver are a few words that can be used to describe Mrs. Mercer’s work ethics. In her role as Office Manager/Group Administrator Mrs. Mercer handles all of the credentialing for The Renaissance Center which involves her working with many insurance companies to ensure that all of the counselor’s information is current and up to date.
